As part of our efforts to keep schools safe for students, staff and visitors, criminal background checks will be required for volunteers starting with the 2016-17 school year. This includes, but is not limited to, classroom volunteers, field trip chaperones and coaches.
We encourage all prospective volunteers to go to the link below as soon as possible to fill out the criminal background verification form online. There is no cost to the volunteer, and all information provided will remain confidential. Printed forms will be available in the school offices for those who prefer to fill out paper versions. Starting Oct. 1, 2014, individuals will not be allowed to volunteer until their background check has been approved.
The conviction of a crime will not automatically disqualify a person from volunteering in a school. Each situation will be considered individually.
